Stephen Griebling

Stephen Griebling is a self-taught composer who majored in chemistry at Mount Union College and worked in the rubber industry in Akron, Ohio for 40 years. His compositions have been performed by the Akron Symphony, the Springfield Symphony and members of the Cleveland Orchestra in concert as well as by the Akron Symphony Chorus, numerous pianists and singers ¯ particularly Mary Sue Hyatt, professor of voice at Kent State University, who has performed many of his songs in the United States and Europe. Mr. Griebling is a member of ASCAP and the Cleveland Composers Guild and has written pieces for students of the Cleveland Music School Settlement on commission. Among these are a piano solo, a piano duet, a song for mezzo-soprano, a piece for brass ensemble and one for two trumpets.
